Concept, Illustrations & Installation
Client(s): Museo del Barrio, Socrates Sculpture Park, Guggenheim/BMW Lab
This public art project was created for Museo del Barrio, Socrates Sculpture Park, and the Guggenheim/BMW Lab. It investigates the life of trash in New York City, and, focusing on plastic waste in particular, demonstrates the implications that stem from this type of pollution. The installation shows people what a ghost net (a net lost or left at sea by fishermen) looks like from a marine life perspective, as well as what pollution and debris it can capture. Through this installation, we hope to educate the public, allowing them to consider the choices they make when it comes to reusing and recycling in their day-to-day lives.
